WHY YOGA
Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means union. Simply put, yoga is an opportunity to unite the mind and body. For thousands of years, yoga has been practiced by combining movement, breathing and mediation. Yoga promotes strengthening of the core, improved balance, flexibility, and stamina. Unlike the tradition workout, yoga is based upon deep breathing and brings a sense of calm throughout the entire body, soothing the parasympathic nervous system. At Naples Yoga Center we take a modern day approach to yoga, with the addition of ancient healing techniques.
WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
Yoga naturally creates the development of a positive, healthy self. The entire body as a whole is utilized throughout the practice of yoga and combined with good nutrition will lead to a general well-being mentally and physically.
INCREASED STRENGTH AND FLEXIBILITY
Frequent yoga practice can increase strength and flexibility within the body improving range of motion. Ligaments, tendons, muscles, and connective tissues work together to lengthen and increase elasticity to help prevent injury. Postures performed are low-impact and recommended for people of all ages and shapes making yoga available to every body and everybody.

Yoga improves circulation by moving oxygenated blood throughout the entire body. During each posture, the body deeply cleanse and removes toxins and wastes. Improved circulation leads to a stronger body and improved circulatory system. Resting heart rate and blood pressure will lower, endurance will increase, and oxygen intake will improve.
PAIN RELIEF AND CHRONIC CONDITIONS
Studies have shown that the practice of yoga severely reduces pain of many chronic conditions including arthritis, hypertension, sciatica, multiple sclerosis, and joint pain. Most people with severe neck and back pain have reported substantial relief after only the first or second yoga class. Regular yoga practice will steadily created a decline and/or complete absence of chronic pains and will ultimately lead to a better 'quality of life'.
STRESS RELIEF
